About Kate Rogerson

Is there a specific moment from your childhood where you knew sports were important to you? For me, I was only four years old.

The year was 2002. My father came home from work to find me, the sports page of The Boston Globe and NFL Draft on in the living room. I made him sit with me until the New England Patriots made their pick. With the 21st pick, they chose Daniel Graham. I turned to my father and said, “That name doesn’t match up with the paper.” He then graciously took the time to explain what a mock draft was and how it all worked. Since that day, sports has always been our thing.

Growing up outside of Boston, Massachusetts it's quite impossible to not be a sports fan. I grew up watching and playing numerous sports. Fascinated by the thrill of sports and power of a game, I discovered where storytelling mattered most throughout championship victories and crushing losses.

My journey as a sports journalist officially began during my sophomore year at the University of Rhode Island.

I've displayed exceptional and consistent academic performance throughout my various courses; maintaining a 3.7 GPA, Dean's List recognition, and good standings with the University.

I'm an extremely hard worker that pays attention to detail, is passionate and eager to learn. I'm continuously striving to perfect my craft whether it be my on-camera presence, technical skills or becoming a better reporter.

From my experiences and what I've learned in my short time as a sports reporter, I feel prepared and excited to begin my professional journey into the world of broadcast journalism.
